BMW All Weather Floor Mats

Some floor mats are advertised as BMW All Weather Floor Mats because their claim for the product is that the floor mats can be used in dry as well as wet and dirty environments. The benefit to this is if you live in a area where there is definite seasonal changes, then these types of floor mats will work great to product the floor of your car cabin.

The floor mats can come in plastic, rubber, or cloth. There are benefits to each type and the type of abuse they can handle.

Plastic are the cheapest and can handle all kinds of weather or material they can provide protection for. Plastic floor mats also are relatively easy to clean and they are cheaper than rubber or cloth floor mats. Their durability however is questionable because the plastic does not do well with the abuse you and your passengers feet will put on them. I would classify these floor mats as all weather because of the types of debris and environment they can withstand, but probably not for a very long time.

Rubber floor mats can also handle all kinds of weather or material and provide the protection against those things. They are also relatively easy to clean, but they are more expensive than the plastic floor mats and probably about the same in pricing with cloth floor mats. Rubber floor mats are more durable than plastic floor mats and can potentially look good on the floor of your car. The rubber floor mats however, because they are built to be more durable, can be a little rough on soft or malleable shoes or bare feet if no foot protection is worn, or shoes. These floor mats are also all weather because of the debris and environment that can place on top of them.

The plastic and rubber floor mats however may be more prone to being slick when using them to get into and out of the car. By using, I mean that you are placing your weight and depending on the friction to prevent your foot from sliding when getting into and out of your car.

The cloth floor mats are the nicest looking floor mats and provide the protection you are looking for. They are however harder to keep clean because the stuff on the sole of your shoe can transfer onto the floor mat and make it that much harder to clean. You can use a vacuum to clean up most messes. Stickier or more persistent stains may require shampooing or some other type of cleaning material to get the mats clean. For this reason, you may want to go with rubber or plastic mats if your environment is not the cleanest more often than not.

The durability of cloth floor mats depends on the quality of the floor mat. Obviously, cheaply manufactured floor mats will not stand up to the rigors of being a floor mat, but if you spend a couple dollars more and purchase a quality cloth floor mat, your BMW cloth floor mats can provide a long period of cabin floor protection.

With cloth floor mats, you can also get them either mass produced with a specific logo, or even get them specially made to your liking. Many BMW floor mats will have the BMW logo or the letters BMW imprinted into them which gives your car a classy interior.

In the end, if you decide to go with plastic, rubber, or cloth BMW All Weather Floor Mats, it is up to you and buy what you like. I would just look at purchasing floor mats that are going to provide quality protection while at the same time looking good on the floor.
